Attraction Information
Beer Quarry Caves is an attraction that links Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle, and The Tower of London. Literally, without this location, all of these historic buildings would not exist!
Your family should visit the site where the beautiful stone for these buildings was excavated. After persistent tunnelling, this quarry has become a series of stunning underground caves, perfect for your little diggers. There are exciting exhibits, ancient documents and stone carvings that will keep everyone on their toes.
For those wanting to learn more about the history of the tunnels, you can follow expert-led tours through the awe-inspiring caves that are available every hour. The tunnels were used by Roman, Saxon, Norman and as late as twentieth-century architects, and with each period having their own excavation technique, it will feel like you’re walking back through time on this day out.
