Wigfield Farm

Wigfield Farm is training the farmers of the future and also opens its doors to the wider community.

Come and look around a working farm and find out all about what it takes to keep things ticking over. There are a variety of different animal species to visit including meerkats, cows, goats, Shetland ponies, donkeys, alpacas, pigs, sheep, chickens, as well as a rodent and aquatic room!

The farms hosts lots of part time courses and is run by students from the Barnsley College Horticulture and Animal Management courses to give them real working experience of day-to-day farm life. There’s a children’s playground and, for an extra cost, story and play sessions held every week in term time.
