Attraction Information
Ventnor Heritage Museum houses an extensive collection of many thousands of items relating to Ventnor and the surrounding area. There is only a small entrance fee for adults, and accompanied children visit for free, making it a great way to learn about the area.
In addition to the items on view in the Exhibition Hall, the Museum archives contains loads of different items, including albums, drawings, engravings, guides, letters, maps, models, newspapers, paintings, photographs, postcards, posters, press cuttings, and scrap books. (To name but a few!) There are so many items a number of the displays and exhibits are changed yearly, so there is always something new to see.
There are operational scale models of Ventnor Station, and Ventnor West Station, plus static scale models of Steephill Castle, Ventnor Mill, and a number of other local buildings, plus RMS Titanic and Mauretania! Artefacts on display include a dinosaur foot cast, a cannon ball, a Singer sewing machine, and an Old Shop Till that you can actually have a go on!
Please note that the museum is only open on Saturday mornings during the winter months.
