Brading Roman Villa
About Brading Roman Villa
Brading Roman Villa offers something for everyone from some of the best preserved mosaic floors in Northern Europe, extensive grounds that include a meadow trail and a Roman garden. The site of the Villa is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Museum itself is housed within an ecological cover building, which is really well laid out and an interesting contrast to the remains of the villa. It is also a kid friendly environment with interactive displays and information boards with just the right amount of facts to absorb. There are also a number of fun activities, such as a quiz, to keep kids entertained. Some of the mosaics are stunning and well restored so it is worth taking the time to have a good look at them. They are excellent inspiration for budding artists. The Visitor Guides are helpful and well informed so do take the opportunity to ask any questions. The temperature at the centre has to be kept reasonably cold to preserve the mosaics etc. so it may be a good idea to bring something warmer to wear.
