Warrior Speedway
Ryde, Isle of WightAbout Warrior Speedway
Smallbrook Stadium is the place to be on a Tuesday evening between April and October. An action packed night of exciting Island Speedway bike racing. 2 teams of 7 riders each race over 15 heats/races around the Smallbrook Stadium (which is the largest circuit in the UK).
Speedway bikes have no brakes, just one gear, a clutch and 500cc engines which run on methanol fuel and can accelerate to 60 mph, faster than a Formula 1 car!
The best thing is that all this happens just yards from where you're standing and the stars of the show (the riders) are easily accessible to see and meet, so don't forget your cameras, autograph books and pens!
There is free parking at the front of the stadium (and an overflow car park behind the stadium).
For just £2 you can purchase a souvenir programme to remind you of a great night of action packed fun!
