Attraction Information
Appley Park is a great place for a family day out playing traditional outdoor games and enjoying the wonderful views across Ryde to the mainland of Portsmouth, where you can sometimes see Spinnaker Tower.
The adventure playground is close to a sandy beach and offers a nice range of play things like the pirate ship, slides (soft landing on the sand!), play huts and the usual seesaws, swings, etc. Take a bucket and spade to transport the sand on the winches: great for the inquisitive!
At nearby Ryde Seafront there's also a paddling pool, trickle stream, and water play area- they have heard one should take a good play bucket along to take full advantage, so be sure to go equipped or take a little pocket money to treat with new stuff from the summer souvenir stalls.
Appley pitch and Putt is a 9 hole Pitch and Putt course and is situated within Appley Park but is managed separately. For information about this attraction contact 01983 821000 ext. 3837. Then it's just a matter of out putting the kids!
Also, within the park is an area of ancient coastal woodland with some trees planted in 1875! Why not have a ramble and see if you can spot them?
