About The Whitaker
Set in a stunning park area in the heart of Rossendale Valley, The Whitaker (previously Rossendale Museum & Art Gallery) is a local Lancashire gem where you can easily spend a few fun hours with the kids. For one, the animals in the taxidermy display are always a hit with the youngsters!
Interested in learning? Discover the heritage of the region, as well as curious artefacts from all over the country in the Natural History Museum. Oh, and make sure you check out the latest exhibition at the art gallery! Fancy playing outside? The Whitaker museum is surrounded by wonderful woodlands for you to explore, plus, there’s a kids’ play area, perfect for outdoor fun.
Tired out & hungry? The museum has a lovely cafe on site where you can relax and enjoy a healthy meal with the little ones. Thanks to the lovely volunteers who work at The Whitaker, you’ll have a nice and pleasant day out!
