About Space 2 Make
Space 2 Make is a warm, welcoming paint-your-own pottery, clay and craft studio in the heart of Accrington. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, switch off from the outside world and spend a few happy hours creating something completely your own.
At the heart of the studio is pottery painting. Choose from a wide range of ceramics including mugs, plates, jugs, vases, seasonal pieces and quirky statement items. Whether you’re five or ninety-five, a total beginner or a confident creative, you’ll be guided through the process in a relaxed and friendly setting. All paints, tools and glazing are provided, and your finished masterpiece is professionally kiln-fired and ready to collect once complete.
If you prefer working with clay, there are hands-on clay workshops where you can build, sculpt and design from scratch. From decorative plaques and name signs to planters and themed seasonal makes, sessions are designed to be accessible, creative and full of personality. It’s less about perfection and more about enjoying the process (and usually having a good laugh along the way).
Space 2 Make is also a proud stockist of Frenchic furniture paint, with upcycling workshops to help you transform tired pieces into beautiful, modern features for your home. Learn techniques, colour combinations and finishing skills that give you the confidence to tackle your own projects.
Beyond pottery and paint, the studio hosts crochet, sewing , needlefelting, weaving and block printing workshops throughout the year. These small-group sessions are perfect for beginners wanting to try something new or improvers looking to build their skills in a supportive environment.
Every session includes refreshments, so you can enjoy a brew and cake while you create. It’s a cosy, community-focused space that’s ideal for catch-ups with friends, family days out, birthday parties, hen celebrations, baby showers or simply carving out a little “me time”.
Located just a one-minute walk from the bus station and five minutes from the train station, Space 2 Make is easy to reach by public transport. On-road parking is available nearby, with two-hour parking during the week and all-day parking on Sundays.
A visit typically lasts around 2-3 hours, giving you plenty of time to choose your piece, paint at your own pace and enjoy the experience. Pre-booking is required to guarantee your table, so booking online in advance is recommended.

We look forward to your visit and please note our studio fee includes a drink and cake/cookie. You just pay for the pottery piece you choose to paint on the day. Once painted your pottery pieces will be ready to collect approx 3 weeks later.
