About Walled Garden at Mells

Walled Garden at Mells is set in the historic Somerset village of Mells, a short distance from Bath and the pretty market town of Frome. The Walled Garden offers its visitors the opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy the beautiful surroundings such as the honey coloured 17th Century walls and the view over the ancient church meadows. It's a pleasingly atmospheric locale, so kids into sketching or photography would benefit from having their kit bought along! The garden is fairly small but has a great selection of traditional flowers such as Sweet Peas, Poppier and Cornflowers. The old walls, greenhouse and little hideaways really make it seem like a secret garden, which the kids will love! There are lots of seats around the gardens, plus tables and chairs are set up under trees and a trellised shelter so you can also sit and enjoy the sights while you indulge in a picnic! The staff are friendly and welcoming and there is a laid back pleasant atmostphere about the place; it is said to be peaceful even when it is busy. Dogs are also welcome, provided that they are kept on the lead.
