Scarborough Castle started life as an Iron Age Fort, was occupied by the Romans, became a Viking settlement and reached its heyday under Henry II!

Learn how it was fought over in the English Civil War and came under bombardment during the First World War! There's a rich and thrilling military history associated with this fortress so there's loads to learn and look at plus a great imaginative atmosphere for the smalls. The 16 race site includes a Roman Signal Station and it's also the only play in the area where you can see both the north and south bays of Scarborough simultaneously. Bring a camera!
