Scarborough Castle started life as an Iron Age Fort, was occupied by the Romans, became a Viking settlement and reached its heyday under Henry II!

Now it's waiting for you with its stunning location and panoramic views over the dramatic Yorkshire coastline: Scarborough castle will be the pinnacle of your visit to Scarborough! Learn how it was fought over in the English Civil War and came under bombardment during the First World War! The 16 race site includes a Roman Signal Station and it's also the only play in the area where you can see both the north and south bays of Scarborough simultaneously. Bring a camera!
