Murder at the Mill - An Escape Room Style Whodunnit
Hatfield, HertfordshireAbout Murder at the Mill - An Escape Room Style Whodunnit
Murder at the Mill is back for its third year at Mill Green Watermill & Museum, and we’ll be running Friday to Sunday from 11th July to 24th August, 10am to 8pm
For returning players: this event is not located in our Campus West space, though it is only a few minutes’ drive away!
Mill Green is a sleepy village where nothing much ever happens… that is, until a murder is discovered! The local constabulary are baffled—there’s only one thing to be done. They call on Clue Company, the world’s greatest detective agency, to see if its super-sleuths can crack the case. Are you and your fellow investigators up to the challenge?
This intriguing escape room whodunnit will take you around the beautiful grounds of Hatfield’s 18th Century working watermill as you race against the clock to solve the crime! Choose your own route around the mill, tackling the challenges in whatever order you wish. Each puzzle you solve will give you another clue to the mystery: once you’ve gathered them all, it’s time to put your detective skills to the test!
Who committed the murder? Where did they do the deed? Which weapon did they use? These are the questions you and your team will need to answer. You’ll have exactly one hour to unravel the mystery and close the case before the suspect makes their escape.
Entrance to the award-winning Mill Green Museum is included in your booking, so once you’ve solved the mystery, you can explore the exhibitions at your leisure, or celebrate your win with a cream tea at the Miller’s Kitchen Café!
If you would like to enjoy a cream team after your game, we would strongly advise you to place a pre-order when booking your tickets. The kitchen’s opening hours are limited, so pre-ordering will ensure that you are not disappointed on the day. With an exclusive discount just for our players, it’s also cheaper!
Murder at the Mill is an original experience created by Pier Pressure Welwyn, inspired by a beloved classic board game and Pier Pressure Brighton’s Clue Company game. It is NOT the same game as Clue Company Brighton, and has all-new puzzles and challenges.
Mill Green Museum has separate opening hours to our escape room experience, so if you would like to see the museum as part of your visit, please check their website before you book!
Weather Policy
We offer a rainy day guarantee so, if rain is forecast, you can choose to postpone to a different date or get a full refund. Full details will be on your confirmation email!
Cream Teas
If you would like to enjoy a cream tea in the gardens to celebrate your excellent detective work after a case well solved, you can now order one in advance when booking your tickets! This is cheaper than ordering on the day (thanks to an exclusive discount from the Mill just for our players), and will ensure the Mill can bake enough handmade scones to meet demand!
