Attraction Information

East Herts Miniature Railway, located within the grounds of The Van Hage Garden Company in Great Amwell, is a 7 and quarter inch gauge miniature railway, boasting well maintained hydraulic and locomotive cabs that everyone will love.

The varied fleet of diesel, steam, and electric locomotives, all of which have a fascinating history to discover, such as the TCB Miller, which has been pulling passengers in excess of 10,000 miles! The railway has been open since 1978, and it had carried 1 million passengers by 2006!

This fantastic miniature railway completes 2 circuits through beautifully landscaped gardens, and includes a journey through a tunnel and over a pond. The kids won't want to get off!

The railway is ideal for anyone with children…and great for big kids too, plus there is a small free zoo that is free to visit! The friendly volunteers are fantastic, and only charge £1 per person, with under 2s free when carried by a fare paying passenger.
