Attraction Information
Visit the East Kent Railway for a leisurely trip on a heritage train through the delightful East Kent countryside. They also have a picnic area, cafe, shop, viewing area, and woodland walks for you to enjoy.
The volunteers will make you feel welcome on board our trains that take you from Shepherdswell to Eythorne. On site, they have a cafe, open 6 days per week, a woodland walk and miniature and model railways for the kids! A full listing of special events can be found on their website, including the ever popular Santa Specials, vintage vehicle rallies and kids fun events such as Teddy's Picnic and Easter Bunnies!
Trains run on Sundays from March to September, including Saturdays and Bank Holidays in the Summer months. They have plenty for you to see at Shepherdswell Station too, with a Visitor Centre housed in a restored signal box, a Miniature Railway, and Walmer Model Railway, which be found in a restored LMS Stainer carriage that was restored to its former glory over 18 months! It is open to the public on all running days, and definitely worth checking out on your visit.
They also do children's parties, where you can hire your own train for your little one, with all the catering and other bits thrown in as well! You can even have your own disco!
Come and join them for a relaxing day out in the Kent countryside!
