About Spinnaker Tower

Soaring 170 metres above Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent, the Spinnaker Tower is taller than the London Eye, Blackpool Tower and Big Ben.

The three viewing decks differ: the first is home to the glass Sky Walk, which will make your kids feel they're floating, the second houses the cafe and the third is open air: whoosh! This is one where you're certainly going to want a camera with you - the views are amazing!

Situated on the waterfront at Gunwharf Quays, it offers stunning 350º panoramic views of Portsmouth Harbour, the South coast and the Isle of Wight, with views stretching out for up to 23 miles, breath-taking by day and a glittering sea of lights by night.

Endless family fun at Spinnaker Tower

Spinnaker Tower, is the iconic landmark of the waterfront skyline of Portsmouth. But it’s the views from the top, a stunning 23 miles of them including some of the most spectacular sights in the British Isles, that make it a must-see attraction and the ideal family day out.

Family tickets cost just £45, allowing visitors to come and go as many times as they like, to see the views as they change through that day.

Children and parents can dare to cross the adrenaline-bursting Sky Walk, a glass path 100 metres above the harbour.

View Deck 1 has floor to ceiling glass walls, boards to help kids identify landmarks and interactive i-VIEW touch screens providing information on the many points of interest in the view.

Highest of all is The Sky Garden, an open-air viewing deck where visitors can take in the sea air while enjoying the view.

Fun trails, activities and events - including visits from children's TV favourites - entertain the whole family during the school holidays.

The new Sky Ranger family ticket allows guests to pay once and return as many times as they like from July 22 to August 30.

Portsmouth's iconic landmark

The iconic Spinnaker Tower stands at a soaring 170 metres tall, offering awe-inspiring 23-mile views over Portsmouth, the Solent, the South Downs and the Isle of Wight.

The experience starts in the high-speed lift and in 30 seconds you step onto the viewing decks where Portsmouth, ‘the great waterfront city’ is showcased in all its glory.

These are unmissable sights, seen from a 350-degree panorama, and each sight with its own story. Discover the rich history behind the view with informative touch screen displays and take in the sea air from the open ‘Sky Garden’.

For those brave enough, there’s a thrilling ‘Sky Walk’, 100 metres above sea level or the opportunity to abseil down the Tower!

Right on the waterfront, The Spinnaker Kitchen & Bar is a relaxing spot to enjoy a drink or bite to eat made with locally sourced ingredients.

To guarantee your experience at this truly uplifting destination, advanced booking is recommended www.spinnakertower.co.uk.

Explore the 23-mile view at Spinnaker Tower

With 23 miles of views stretching in all directions, there’s just so much for kids to discover.

From the hovercraft powering its way across the Isle of Wight, to the mighty warships of Britain’s Royal Navy, from historic forts to a vibrant & bustling city full of stories and character.

And if they can tear themselves away from the windows, then they might like to see which members of the family are brave enough to venture across the glass Sky Walk! A great place to capture a fun family selfie to share with friends!

Kids can also explore the tower with activity trail sheets, learning about the view as they go.

They can enjoy lunch right on the water’s edge, at the café. With a cold kid’s lunch box or hot meal option, and a range of hot or cold lunches for the grown-ups, it’s the perfect place to fuel up before heading out to explore.
