Agnew Park
Stranraer, Dumfries and GallowayAbout Agnew Park
Agnew Park offers a fantastic day out for the all ages, starting with a miniature railway that takes you on a full tour of the park so you can see what's on offer! You'll find an awesome 18 hole putting green (please note this isnotmini or crazy golf, it'sgolf golf!), plus an adventure play island featuring exciting and innovative play equipment! There's also an educational play area with interactive features based on basic science principles (amusing given Spiro's anti-intellectualism!) plus go karts and a mini car racing circuit to burn rubber on!
The park can be found on the shores of Loch Ryan, so there are plenty of bird watching opportunities to be had nearby, plus a number of walkways through beautiful gardens and scenery. The Boating lake here is another great attraction for families, with a range of variously sized boats to hire, including pedalos, skiffs, and canoes! Can oo? Es oo can!
Pavements, benches, railings and other features have been designed to reflect the seaside location and marine heritage of the area, and provide a number of interesting features for the kids to look out for as well as a much needed resting point for nan and grandad. There is also a seasonal pavilion cafe that serves a range of refreshments so take your pocket money!
