Whithorn Cradle of Christianity
Founded by St. Ninian in the 5th century this is the site of the first Christian church in Scotland, later becoming the cathedral church of Galloway. The ongoing archaeological excavation is partially open to visitors. In the museum itself is a significant collection of early Christian stones.
