Attraction Information
Ark Open Farm is a charmingly fun educational facility set in over forty acres of unspoiled countryside and is a loving home to at least 200 different animals, many of whom are rare and endangered species. Plus their new Creepy Crawly Loft offers you tortoises, chameleons, geckos and snakes, bearded dragons, hermit crabs, squirrels and hedgehogs right down to millipedes and snails! A fascinating opportunity to see the shenanigans of many mini beasts!
You'll also get to see tame and friendly pigs and cows, sheep and goats as well as reindeer, llamas and alpacas, plus take a ride on one of the ponies or get cuddly with the rabbits, guinea pigs and kid goats! There's a duck pond too, and several scenic farm walks to enjoy, suitable for little legs.
The Ark Farm is unique in that it specialises in animals no longer seen in Northern Ireland fields so if you want to take it more educational there really is a lot to be learned from this environment, excellent for bonus credit style projects for school.
When the weather's good they have a special Outdoor Adventure Area; they also use a large indoor playing area for when it's wet so either way the kids have some swings and slides, balls and clubbing surfaces to burn off their energy on.
You'll find all the usual facilities too such as a gift shop, tea room as well as a farm shop, so there's an element here to appeal to everybody.
