Cockle Row Cottages
These lovingly restored fisherman's cottages have Guided Tours Available to explore their rich maritime heritage and history, where atmospheric remnants and displays give fascinating insight into what it was like to be a fisherman or in a fisherman's family way back at the turn of the last century. It's interesting and educational and the row of buildings also encompasses a Local Visitor Information Centre which can help you plan for further forays into the local scene.
They also host a great variety of free weekend family entertainment from April to August! Children will have the chance to join in on a range of cool activities including face painting, children's arts and crafts, balloon modelling and loads more every single weekend from 2pm to 4pm. Some of the other activities include various types of live music, craft fairs, falconry displays, highland dancing, piper demonstrations, a mobile open farm, science and magic show, Dino Dig and crazy clay workshops! Loads!
There's a picnic area and snacks are available in the gift shop, plus during the events weekends there's often a vendor or two knocking about purveying treats!
