Attraction Information
Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool is a 25m (82ft) heated open air pool that is run by the Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool Association, a registered charity run by volunteers. It is open between mid-April and early September each year, and there are lessons and club sessions available too.
The pool has been open since 1968, with many improvements along the way, making it a great place to take the kids for a swim. There is also a Toddler Pool for your little water babies that is kept at a constant 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius), making it an excellent place to improve water confidence and skills.
There are separate changing facilities for men and women, baby changing tables, hot showers that are powered by solar panels, and a family or disabled changing room with shower facilities. They also have a disabled chair hoist available on request if you need assistance to get in and out of the pool. If all that swimming makes everyone hungry and thirsty, there is a well-stocked kiosk with plenty of snacks and drinks. They also stock armbands, swimming nappies and swimming goggles.
All babies and children who are not potty trained will need to wear a swimming nappy when using the pool. Please also be aware that even though the pool is staffed by fully qualified lifeguards, children under 8 must be accompanied at all times by a competent swimmer aged 16 or older.
