Attraction Information
Chudleigh Lido has the honour of being one of the UK's newest lidos, having opened in 1997.
It's very popular with the locals whilst being very welcoming to out of towners and is operated by the Chudleigh Community Project. You can find it in the grounds of the primary school, which is why it's major public visiting (rather than community use) season is during the summer holidays. The actual times of opening are not posted so be sure to check ahead to avoid disappointed kids!
They offer a pleasant swimming environment with the temperature a consistent 28°C (82.5°F), trained lifeguards on duty, an all-weather shelter for outbreaks of British Summertime, plus BBQ facilities. All the ingredients for a lovely family splash about! It may not have any slides, but slides don't help you learn to swim! Dan and Sarah (ASA instructors) howeverdo, and they offer 1-2-1 private lessons for both adults and children, from non-swimmers to improvers. Pre-booking is essential, as you can imagine!
It's a nice thing to know that it is significantly Low Chlorine Water, this is great for kids whose eyes dislike the normal pool fluids, or kids with eczema.
