Attraction Information
If you go down to the woods today you’re sure to have an adventure, as well as a few surprises along the way! With 3,500 acres of woodland to discover, Haldon Forest Park is home to tonnes of outdoor fun, including a basket swing, mini bouldering wall, den building, giant xylophones and a wooden teepee.
There are also plenty of trails of various difficulty throughout the woodlands. We’d say the one your kids will enjoy the most is the A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon Glow Trail*, which takes you on a journey alongside Shaun the Sheep and his friends. Be adventurous and choose from numerous ways to explore - by bike, on horseback, or even on segway tours!
Build your little ones’ cycling skills at the pump track or the skills area, before taking on one of the off-road cycling tracks. Love a good challenge? Take on the Go Ape Treetop Adventure course. Kids can spend hours zooming down zip wires and swinging through the branches.

Great day out (without breaking the bank) 5 out of 5 stars
We had a great day trip out and the kids had a great time, aged 1 to 8. We picked up a map and followed the easy path through the woods following the Gruffalo trail. There are longer more difficult paths to follow and also lots of bike trails. We had a picnic in the shaded picnic area in the woods where we met the Gruffalo, this is also where you will find the Go Ape activities. You can hire bikes, we had some scooters which were fine on most of the easy paths. We had no problem with the buggy, the easy path was also suitable for wheelchairs. At the main area there is also a cafe, toilets, sand pit playground and an ice cream hut. We were there about 4 hours but you could easily be much longer doing a longer route or bringing or hiring bikes. The only charge is parking, £5 for 4 hours, £7 all day at park times. A recommended day out.
