Attraction Information

Against the backdrop of the stunning Dartmoor, Haldon Forest Park is as far south as Go Ape ventures. The Treetop Challenge and Treetop Adventure courses can be found nestled in 3,500 acres of woodland just 15 minutes from Exeter and with Dartmoor as a backdrop for breathtaking scenery.

So, if you're looking for an adventure for thrill seekers and can tackle three challenges like these, then this is perfect for you!

Fun Activities for Thrill Seekers

Families with younger kids can put their courage to the test on the Treetop Adventure course. Lasting just one hour, the course is designed for anyone over 1m tall. Children will tackle a variety of tree-high crossings before buckling on for the brilliant zip-wire finale! Perfect for those looking for a thrilling day out and zipline fanatics.

Looking for a challenge? Spend 2-3 hours stepping out of your comfort zone whilst combating daring obstacles and flying from hilltop to hilltop on cross-valley zip wires on our Treetop Challenge course. At over 200 metres long, the forest ziplines that ride across the valley are a showstopper!

And of course, there are walking routes and cycling trails for you and the family to enjoy, as you take in the beautiful forests. It's a family adventure for everyone!

Food & Drink

Come rain or shine there are multiple places to tuck into your lunch at Go Ape Haldon Forest. In the warmer months sit outside and soak up the breathtaking scenery of Exeter's stunning countryside. In the Winter months, you can cosy up in the cafe and relax after you've completed your forest journey!

Share an unforgettable adventure at Go Ape Haldon! Swing in the canopy, zip across the sky and step outside of your comfort zone.

Go Ape is not signposted until you are at the entrance to Haldon Forest Park itself. From the North: There are 4 main roads that lead to the A38 to Plymouth which has the exit sign to"Haldon Forest" (and Go Ape!): M5 Southbound (becomes the A38), A377 (from Barnstaple, which joins the A30), A30 (from Okehampton, joins the A38) and A379 (from Countess Wear and joins the A38 at Kennford). Ensure you are on the A38 to Plymouth when the road splits into the A380 (Torquay) and the A38 Plymouth. The road becomes a steep hill with three lanes. Ensure you are in the left-hand lane before the top of the hill as the turn off at the "Haldon Forest" & Exeter racecourse"(and Go Ape!) sign has no-slip road and is a very sharp left turn. At the mini roundabout turn right and head past the entrance to Exeter racecourse, underneath an underpass and straight on for over a mile. Turn left into Haldon Gateway. From the South: There are 2 main roads from the South: A380 (from Torquay) and A38 (from Plymouth/Cornwall) From the A380 northbound you will find an exit sign to "Haldon Forest & Exeter racecourse" (and Go Ape!) just before a service station. Follow this road straight (signposted Haldon Gateway) over a mini-roundabout, past the entrance to Exeter racecourse, underneath an underpass and straight on for over a mile. Turn left into Haldon Gateway. From the A38 northbound you take an exit soon after a Service station to "Haldon Forest & Exeter racecourse" (also Go Ape) This slip road takes you to a junction where you turn left then straight on for over a mile where you will see a left turn into Haldon Gateway. Please note that the first turn into what appears to be Haldon Hub is actually the Forestry commission offices and has "OFFICE ACCESS ONLY" painted on the road. Haldon Forest and Go Ape is a further 200 yds on the left). Go Ape is at the far end of the car park tucked away.
