About Paint and Create
Paint & Create is a Pottery Painting and Craft Studio with something to suit all ages and abilities; tucked away in the courtyard of Apley Farm Shop is a lovely, bright studio space where you can paint your own pottery, get creative using foam clay, or throw a pot on the Potter's Wheel!
The team of staff are always on hand to help and inspire you with a huge range of stamps, tools and colours. They want everyone to enjoy the process and try something new but if you’re not totally confident yet, keep things simple with the tools provided. There are over 200 different pieces of pottery to choose from so whether it be dinosaurs, unicorns, a cookie jar or a simple plate, there’ll be something to tickle your fancy.
They're open everyday but check the website for opening hours then give the studio a call or drop them an email to book a table.
For adults they also have regular evenings where you can grab a drink or two to chat and paint the night away. If you'd like to try another craft then they also have regular Glass Fusing, Potter's Wheel and Modern Calligraphy events throughout the year.
There is ample free parking on site, accessible toilets and a baby change area. The studio is wheelchair and pushchair friendly and they have free wi-fi. Throw your own pot on the Potter's Wheel!
Alongside painting our pottery shapes, you can have a go on the Potter's Wheel and throw your own pot. Look out for their Potter's Wheel Family Days to book your place.
Over 200 pieces of pottery to paint
They have an everchanging range of over 200 pieces of bisque fired pottery for you to choose from. From animals and letters to teapots and lanterns - you're sure to find something to suit your creative needs (and budget!) Enjoy the huge range of sponges, stamps, stencils, pens, and tools to help create something fabulous for even the least creative amongst you. Pick up a practice tile and have a go!
Take your creation home the same day with foam clay!
Foam Clay is a fantastic air-drying modelling clay with a very soft, foam paste consistency containing small polystyrene beads that can coat, wrap and cover your pottery. The best bit? You can take it home with you on the day - no firing required. Leave to dry for a few hours and Foam Clay sets to a firm and hard surface. Perfect for sculpturing, shaping, modelling and more, this self-hardening Foam Clay is sure to keep kids (or adults!) amused for hours on end. All colours are vivid, bright and inter-mixable. The creative possibilities are endless!
