The Blue Pool
Wareham, DorsetAbout The Blue Pool
The Blue Pool Nature Reserve & Tearooms is a great day out for families all year round. Nestled in the stunning Furzebrook Estate, just a 10 minute drive from Wareham on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset. This historic gem offers 30 acres of beautiful woodland and nature trails to explore.
One of the most exciting highlights is the UK’s longest rope bridge, spanning 50 metres set high amongst the trees, a fun experience for kids and brave grown-ups - hold on tight!
Children will love the play area with swings, climbing frames and balance beams, and the new Trail of Enchanted Doors - launching May half term! Pick up an activity sheet when you arrive and head out on the trail in search of tiny hand crafted doors. Discover the magical characters the doors belong to, count the acorns on each one, then head to the gift shop to get your certificate stamped by the friendly team.
As you wander the peaceful paths, enjoy incredible views of The Blue Pool which can appear different shades of blue and green throughout the year as the sunlight reflects off the water. Keep an eye out for local wildlife - from birds and butterflies to drangonflies and deer, perfect for nature lovers and photographers.
When it’s time to take a break, the vintage Art-Deco Tearooms and sunny outdoor terrace with picnic benches and stretch tents for shade, offer the ideal spot to refuel. Enjoy tasty breakfasts, lunch options, coffees, cakes and afternoon teas. If you're after a colder treat, head to the woodlands ice cream stop where you can choose delicious flavours of local Purbeck ice cream!
Don’t forget to browse the gift shop, or stop by the plant centre before you leave.
What's more there's a whole range of events to attend including easter fun, wild events for kids, outdoor cinemas, a chance to visit Santa in his grotto and the dazzling winter light show event. Visit the website for full details www.bluepooltearooms.co.uk/events
