Curious About Bournemouth
Bournemouth, DorsetAbout Curious About Bournemouth
Curious About Bournemouth is a journey of discovery: an exciting glimpse into what makes this glorious seaside town what it is.
Resident or just visiting, you're bound to spot things you wouldn't otherwise have noticed. The two walks can be enjoyed separately, or joined together to form one longer walk, depending upon available time and energy and other distractions that we suggest!
Walk 1: West Cliff to Gardens (1.5 miles/1.5 hours, Not Wheelchair/Pushchair Friendly)
From the top of a path which zig-zags steeply down West Cliff to the beach, take the easier option and stroll past West Cliff lift and a famous conference centre to the front of Bournemouth’s fabulous pier. Next it’s up through beautiful gardens beside the River Bourne, past areas where you can play or rest, before circling around stunning churches and the Town Hall, to end in yet more delightful, gorgeous and historic gardens.
Walk 2: Town Centre to The Sea (1 mile/1 hour/Wheelchair and buggy friendly)
From Bournemouth Square make your way up the town’s most interesting shopping street before passing a church made famous by Mary Shelley - author of Frankenstein! Next it’s through an unusual arcade to a walk through pine trees, with an outdoor aviary, and the renowned Pavilion. Finally, end your walk down by the sea, with fresh air, sandcastles, beach huts, deckchairs, fish & chips and lots of fun!
