Tonbridge, KentAbout Tabby The Tonbridge Witch / Pumpkin Patch Parade
All Horrors Eve: The Halloween Festival at the Tonbridge Old Fire Station promises a delightful mix of activities for both kids and adults, with events tailored to entertain all ages during its festive run. The daytime festivities are especially geared towards younger visitors, making it a safe and fun-filled environment for children to embrace the Halloween spirit.
One of the standout attractions for children is the Pumpkin Patch Parade. This event is a must for any little witches, goblins, or ghouls looking for a unique and safe trick-or-treating experience. Kids are encouraged to come dressed in their best Halloween costumes, adding to the fun and excitement. As they navigate the charming twists and turns of the Pumpkin Patch Parade, they'll encounter six intriguing, friendly Halloween doors. Each door holds a surprise – but what exactly happens when they press the doorbells? Is anyone home, or will they be met with a fun treat or unexpected trick?
The event is designed to be a lighthearted and enchanting experience, perfect for younger kids who might be experiencing Halloween festivities for the first time. Along the way, children can collect goodies left out from the residents of Pumpkin Patch Parade, making it a memorable adventure. At the end of the route, families can also snap some fun pictures to capture the memories of their little ones in their fantastic costumes. The festival offers free digital photo downloads, and for those who want to commemorate the day with a physical keepsake, printed photos can be purchased for an additional fee.
But the fun doesn’t end with trick-or-treating! The festival has even more in store. After all the excitement of the parade, kids can head into the TOFS cafe for a refreshing drink or snack. The cafe is Halloween-themed, ensuring that the spooky vibes continue even during snack time. The festive treats and drinks will be a hit with kids and parents alike. But that’s not all—the children can also enjoy some music and dancing with The Pumpkets, a new local band that’s sure to bring lively Halloween tunes to get everyone grooving. With this fun combination of treats, costumes, and music, the Pumpkin Patch Parade ensures that the little ones are thoroughly entertained.
Another magical event during the festival is the chance to meet Tabby the Tonbridge Witch. Tabby, known for being one of the friendliest witches around, has a bit of a scatter-brained reputation—often forgetting important ingredients for her potions! This event invites children to become her helpers for the day, assisting her in creating a magical brew. The experience begins as kids are escorted up a staircase into the witch’s apothecary. As they walk down a candle-lit corridor adorned with portraits of witches and wizards from the past, the atmosphere becomes spellbinding. Inside the apothecary, Tabby awaits with her cauldron and ingredients—but there’s one problem: she’s missing a crucial element for her best potion, and she needs the help of her young visitors to complete it.
This interactive meet-and-greet lasts around five minutes per child, during which they’ll have a magical and memorable time helping Tabby. The moment is captured with candid and posed photos, available for purchase after the visit. However, it’s important to note that this particular event is located on the first floor of the Tonbridge Old Fire Station and is only accessible via a staircase, so all participants need to be able to manage the stairs.
Beyond the kids’ events, the TOFS cafe continues to offer a relaxing spot for families and adults to enjoy Halloween-themed food and drinks. From spooky beverages to delicious treats, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, for families with furry friends, the café is dog-friendly, meaning pets can join in on the fun, too!
With an exciting lineup of child-friendly events, All Horrors Eve is a fantastic way for families to celebrate Halloween in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.
