Attraction Information
Where else, away from the hustle and crowds of London, could you hope to find such a tranquil and exciting treasure?
Stunning Egyptian, Buddhist, Jacobean and Stuart artefacts and magnificent Japanese armour, Samurai Swords and Lacquer are waiting to be discovered in the castle rooms. There is also a real Victorian Kitchen dating back to 1805 where visitors can enjoy hands on activities.
Throughout the year the Castle hosts themed activity days, when families can enjoy arts and crafts activities, interactive workshops, dressing up, nature trails and much more! Families can also enjoy a variety of activities on non-event days such as the Bingo Spotter sheet or learning to write in Hieroglyphics.
The Castle is surrounded by 35 acres of grounds, where children can burn off energy as they explore the woodland, grounds and award winning orangery. There is also a pretty courtyard rose garden and lake to discover.
The Castle's Victorian tea room serves light lunches, delicious cream teas and hot and cold drinks. Visitors can sit inside or outside in the pretty courtyard. Or alternatively enjoy a picnic on the lawns where dogs are also welcome.
