About Chimera Climbing Centre
Chimera Climbing Centre welcomes all youngsters to the exciting activity of climbing!
Climbing offers young people an adventurous challenge while also encouraging an active lifestyle. The nature of the sport is such that all are able to succeed and gain a sense of self satisfaction and achievement.
As well as the option to simply visit and climb as a family, they also offer a range of childrens clubs, both after school, at weekends and during the school holidays. These are designed to develop youngsters within different age bands; Little Monkeys (5-7), Rock Ninjas (8-11) and the Academy (12-16). The clubs offer structured sessions delivered by experienced and enthusiastic instructors and can be booked in half-term and termly blocks.
Birthday parties are also provided on Saturdays and Sundays, providing a high energy, fun experience for all. Delivered by an instructor, a range of climbing games and activities are used to achieve a memorable time which often leads to youngsters returning for more during their free time.
Climbing provides young people with many benefits. Not only a physical activity, climbing encourages focus and concentration, while developing fine motor skills such as hand eye co-ordination. The challenge of completing a climb often requires problem-solving skills, successful completion of which really boosts self esteem, achievable by all as problems are provided at all inclusive levels.
