Attraction Information
Runswick Bay
Because it is sheltered by the lofty crag of Lingrow Knowle, the bay is a tranquil spot where you can moor a boat or simply pitch a deck chair and take a swim. It's one of the few safe swimming areas for quite a few miles, though there is no lifeguard cover. Waterskiing is quite popular here too.
At low tide the beach reveals a mile of rocky outcrops and countless fossils, so it's fabulous for beach combing.
Multi year Quality Coast Award winner.
Be aware of the ramp down to the beach and car park, which has a 1 in 4 gradient and should be undertaken with care!
