About Burgh Island...

Burgh Island is a tidal island on the coast of South Devon in England near the small seaside village of Bigbury-on-Sea. There are several buildings on the island, the largest being the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel.

  • First of its kind in the world!

Created in 1969 in exchange for a crate of champagne, the sea tractor has remained the only one of its kind and is a popular tourist attraction in Devon.

  • Enjoy panoramic views of the coast

Soak up magical views as you travel towards the craggy island.

  • Lovely afternoon tea option at the Burgh Island Hotel

Once you've arrived, we recommend trying out the afternoon tea at the Burgh Island Hotel! You can enjoy epic coastal views while indulging in a few treats on this tiny island.
