Millhouses Park can be found roughly 3 miles south west of Sheffield city centre, and offers 13 hectares of Green Flag Award wining parkland, with a large play park, water play, a lake, skate park, riverside walk, and much more! It is open daily throughout the year, and free to visit.
There is a great ‘adventure style' playground designed to amuse and entertain the kids with features that include chains and climbing bars, balance beams, a new zip wire, and a state of the art climbing wall for kids aged 4 to 11 years. There is also plenty of traditional equipment such as swings and a large climbing frame. If the kids want some splashtastic fun, there is also the Splash water play area, which offers interactive aquatic features to play with, including an Archimedes Screw, sluice gates, a water wheel, and a rain tress.Make sure you have plenty of towels and spare clothes handy!
There is also a Fish Ladder, which is a rocky stream designed to encourage fish to swim upstream and bypass the 2 weirs on the river Sheaf, a Boating Lake, and of course the river itself, which is a great place for a stroll or a picnic. The park also has a large purpose built Skate Park, with kerbs, ramps and rails, plus an all weather 5 a side pitch, and a children's' cycle way with humps and bumps!
