Graves Gallery

Graves Gallery has something for everyone with 8 galleries of imaginatively shown artwork. It is worth the walk to the top floor above the city's library to see the collections of traditional and modern art. One collection covers 400 years of European art and the stories and symbols used to illustrate myths, religious ideas and historic events. ‘Abstract and Art now' explores pattern and colour in modern art with some thought provoking works. You can also discover how art has changed over the last century find out about portraits from the 16th to 18th century. The Gallery also has an ever changing programme of exhibits of works by particular artists or on a specific theme.
