The ultimate winter light festival is bigger and brighter than ever this Christmas! Bursting with exciting new installations, a mesmerising festive water show and some very special star guests!! The award-winning Lightopia Festival returns to Crystal Palace Park, bringing its incredible light show to London for the second year, and it’s bigger and brighter than ever this time!
What is Lightopia?
Lightopia London is an incredible, illuminating light festival that is set to sparkle your darkest nights through the winter. With magical and enchanting light installations that dazzle your very eyes, illuminating a pathway as you wander around the festival of light. You won't just come across any ol' light installation though...there are a number of special ones that will truly amaze you and hold you in awe.
What are they? We hear you ask, well let's get into it!
First be amazed at 'The Wonders of the Dragon' - a truly breathtaking light dragon who dramatically breathes 'fire', illuminating the surrounding trees and crystals! After, make your over to a 40-metre-wide and 15-metre-tall water show, over the lower lake. A spectacular visual feast that will have you going ahhh and wowee! Here you'll see the beloved Christmas imagery of a giant Santa, Rudolf, a Christmas tree and snowflake light displays this festive season, all ready to illuminate your very eyes. Not forgetting the giant snowmen, colourful baubles and sugar canes!
Then embark on a journey through 'The Magical Forest' on a light trail where you'll discover a fantasy world of mythical and wonderful winged creatures. With this immersive installation of light, you'll find enchanting and organic 'Land of Fairy Literature', and beautiful flower light displays like the 'Earth Flower' and 'Forest Mushroom'. Then you'll find yourself leading down to a spooky and wonky world of 'Haunted Road'... Before setting your eyes on the Bench Wonders and more magical trails and interactive light installations - it'll be a sparkling night out!
Did you also know that Lightopia welcomes CBeebies' own BAFTA-winning Clangers to their immersive experience and family-friendly installations? The beloved Clangers will be there as you've never seen before! Are you ready to be blown away?
