Attraction Information
Apparently known locally as Brixton's Beach, Brockwell Lido is nestled in the corner of beautiful Brockwell Park: a much loved local green-space for nearly 80 years.
The nicely heated full Olympic size (that's 50m!) pool is surrounded by a handsome Grade II listed art deco building that's actually hiding a super modern gym and studios: worth knowing if you've got teens along!
It's also worth noting that the sessions are split into Lane Swimming and Open Swimming only, with no regular sessions dedicated to families or water toys. That said who needs it? It often distracts from the swimming itself, you'll see their skills develop much faster somewhere like this and kids will find it surreal and exciting to use the warm lido in the winter months: it's open into November!
This site is also home to the Windrush Triathlon Club, plus ‘Streamline Swims' offer lessons here for all ages. In the summer holidays there are often additional activities laid on for kids' entertainment, varying each year and ranging from huge community art projects to live performance workshops!
The Lido cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating so if you're just spectating you can keep an eye on the kids at the same time as your coffee. A great spot for a family splash about and some quality time with the kids.
