You won't find such an unusual and eclectic collection anywhere else in London!
Lots of interesting changing exhibitions, and galleries include Natural history, African Worlds, Anthropology, Music Gallery and much more. It's a real treat for curious kids, particularly the 4,000 item Hands On zone, with some really unusual things to explore with wild textures and amazing oddities a go go. Happy hands!
Plus, you can all learn how to easily identify city wildlife, and the Animal Walk lets visitors walk through the centre of the new enclosures for a close encounter with its furry and feathered residents! A delightfully immersive way to enjoy nature that will really capture kids' imaginations as its like walking through a jungle.
The Museum's Aquarium has been designed from the ground up with children in mind. Low level viewing windows and engaging interpretation introduce them to underwater wonderlands. Fifteen exhibits showcase aquatic environments from around the globe, ranging from the British coastline to Fijian coral reefs!
Plus, the glorious botanical gardens, an adventure in itself if you have the weather for it! There are activity packs to download for your exploration if you like, but plenty to see and do without too, with educational display gardens which as well as focusing on Materials, Foods and Dyes also features a special garden producing sounds! You can also follow the trail of Sundials or catch a summer performance at the Bandstand, or take your picnic inside at the Dutch Barn.
