Substation Brixton is a family friendly bouldering and fitness centre in the heart of South London. With hundreds of climbing routes set for all ages and abilities, you'll find climbs suitable for all the family.
As well as a spaceous main gym area, young climbers can experience a world of imagination in our dedicated kids-only climbing room called The Wild. This interactive forest themed space is perfect for little ones aged 2–10 years to experience climbing for the first time, make friends and play!
Substation is a short walk from Clapham and Brixton tube and bus stops. With on-site family parking, baby changing facilities, ramps and lift access, climbing has never been so accessible!

Dedicated kids only climbing space
Separate from the main climbing area, you'll find The Wild – a purpose-built kids-only climbing room for children aged two to 10. Designed by child psychology experts, this innovative space was built to inspire creative thinking through play and sensory learning. With an immersive forest theme and over 30 diverse climbing routes, The Wild provides a safe, fun and imaginative environment for young climbers to experience climbing for the first time, make friends and play.
Family friendly climbing gym
Substation Brixton is a modern bouldering gym equipped with dedicated family parking spaces, baby changing facilities and lift access. With routes set for all ages and abilities, Parents and kids can experience a wide variety of fun and challenging climbs together.
On-site cafe serving drinks and snacks
The Grtistone, our onsite Cafe, bar and pizzeria, serves hot and cold drinks and snacks Monday - Sunday. Hand-stretched pizza is cooked fresh to evenings and weekends. See our website for opening times and special offers.

Our adult prices vary during peak and off-peak times. Adult spectators, babies (under 2) go free. Climbing shoe hire is included for Wild opening play bookings but comes at an additional cost of £4.00 for main area climbers.
