Attraction Information
Felixstowe Museum will probably surprise you when you discover the significant military history of somewhere that is now a peaceful coastal resort.
You can find out about battles from the time of Henry VIII through to the 1950s on air, sea and land. There are some brilliant models of aircraft, ships and tanks, plus uniforms and other artefacts.
More interested in a time when mammoths were alive? Check out the Archaeology section, which has a huge mammoth tooth to examine and a number of jewellery, coins and pots from Roman times.
If kids want to find out what life was like in Victorian and Edwardian Felixstowe, there is an amazing collection of items such as toys, medicine, fashion and even a hat made completely of feathers. Pop into the General Store to see bygone household items and what they used to cost.
The museum also has an exhibition that changes annually. This year, you can find out about World War I from a local point of view.
