High Lodge in Thetford Forest is a smashing example of wood as it should be, with numerous play areas, things to discover, walking and cycling trails, and loads of opportunities for exercise and adventure! Not forgetting the brand new Stickman trail, and the return of our popular Gruffalo Orienteering course for 2025! It's a family forest adventure everyone will enjoy!
High Lodge Thetford Forest Centre also has an outstanding nature play area for the kids where your little explorers will be sliding, climbing and balancing for hours. Your little ones can play in our updated Sand Play area, updated with wheelchair accessible sand trays. Why not try out one of the magical woodland trails on your next family adventure?
Feeling really adventurous today? Why don’t you plan an extra activity - take on the Go Ape high ropes course, try your hand at archery, or explore the forest via segway?
You'll have the perfect family day out packed with so many adventurous activities from the high ropes to magnificent walking trails and cycling for families on the epic cycle tracks.
Food & Drink
Those beautiful trails have kept you busy exploring for long enough and now you're feeling a bit peckish. Head over to the High Lodge Cafe for some delicious grub! Tuck into steaming hot jacket potatoes and full English breakfasts. Treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake and sip on cups of tea. There are plenty of food and drink options, both hot and cold.

The family-friendly trail will be filled with fun and activities - don't forget to pick up your passport and activity pack at our Information Point.
Adventure Golf
Spend a couple of hours enjoying an 18-hole golf course! You'll be playing between the trees with the backdrop of the spectacular forest. It's a popular activity for a reason!
9 hole disc golf course
Try your hand at disc golf - a unique mix of frisbee and mini golf. Wind your way through our woodland trail, and try a fun new sport. Hire the discs from our Information Point, or bring your own!
