Attraction Information
Burwell Museum shows what life was like in this area over the last 100 years, plus there are Anglo Saxon and Romano British displays.
Stevens' Mill (the adjacent windmill) is also part of the museum and you can visit it when accompanied by a member of staff, who will be able to tell you all about it as you climb.
Kids will love the vintage vehicles gallery with rare carriages, an Austin 7 and a mobile butcher shop. There is also an interactive Victorian schoolroom and a village shop, plus dressing up opportunities in the Nissen hut, which contains a range of uniforms from both World Wars. A good chance to learn with lots of hands on interactive exhibits and an audio visual gallery.
There are open spaces for the kids to play, or for you to have a picnic. Check out the Roman pottery and the revolving Summerhouse. There is also an 18th century barn, wagon sheds, a forge and an authentic shepherd's hut, including sheep!
