About Watatunga Wildlife Reserve

Watatunga Wildlife Reserve is an award-winning wildlife attraction located near King’s Lynn in West Norfolk, dedicated to the conservation of some of the world’s most endangered deer, antelope and bird species. Nestled across 170 acres of stunning countryside, Watatunga offers a safari experience like no other – it’s perfect for wildlife lovers, families with curious kids, and anyone looking to do something different in the great outdoors.

From April to October, visitors can enjoy a guided safari tour in their own electric buggy, driving in convoy with a small group of other guests. Leading the tour is a friendly, knowledgeable guide, radio-linked to all buggies, who brings the reserve to life with fascinating facts and stories about our rare and remarkable residents. You’ll get the chance to see animals roaming freely in a naturalistic setting, with plenty of opportunities to stop, look, and learn.

Electric Buggy Safaris for All Ages

Hop into your own electric buggy and explore Watatunga’s 170-acre wildlife reserve on a guided safari tour. It’s a unique, immersive experience where families of all ages, from toddlers to grandparents, can spot endangered deer, antelope and birds up close. Our knowledgeable guides lead each tour, sharing fun facts and conservation stories that bring every encounter to life. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, education, and relaxation in the heart of the Norfolk countryside.

UK’s Largest Collection of Rare Deer and Antelope

Watatunga is home to the UK’s most diverse collection of endangered deer and antelope, offering families a rare chance to see incredible species not found in traditional zoos. From majestic eland to striking Eastern Mountain Bongo, the animals roam freely in wide open spaces designed to replicate their natural habitats. The reserve’s hands-off, conservation-first approach means you’re seeing wildlife the way it’s meant to be — wild, curious, and thriving.

Interactive Fun with Family-Friendly Activities

We make sure little explorers are kept engaged throughout their adventure. Children can use a fun animal-themed ‘I Spy’ card to tick off species as they spot them, perfect for adding a little friendly competition or keeping younger minds curious and focused. Our enthusiastic guides are brilliant at making the tour enjoyable for kids and adults alike, answering questions and pointing out wildlife along the way. It’s an exciting, screen-free day out that’s both fun and educational.
