Banham Zoo is an award winning family attraction located in the beautiful countryside of Banham Norfolk. There are lots of exciting animals and experiences to see and learn about. Whether it's birds of prey displays, animal encounter sessions, black-and-white ruffed lemurs or the keeper tours that have got you hooked on Banham Zoo, there's something for everyone.

Animals & Conservation
One thing's for certain, this is an attraction with lots of amazing animals and things to do. Their commitment to animal conservation can be heard in the daily keeper talks and animal feeds. These talks provide children and families with a rich understanding about how to protect Earth's most sacred wildlife. You'll also learn some quirky facts about each beloved animal too, like how Blue-eyed black lemurs, also known as Sclater’s lemurs, are the only non-human primates to have blue eyes! 

TheBanham Zoological Gardens is home to a collection of animals with over 2,000 majestic creatures from around the world set in 50 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens. Visit the subtropical house ‘Eureka’ to see many species including Santos, the two-toed sloth and take a walk through the lemur and penguin enclosures.

There are impressive big cats prowling around including snow leopards, cheetahs and an Amur Tiger - all the way from Russia! You can also watch extraordinary predators of the sky take flight in one of the most exciting Birds of Prey displays in the UK! Watch bald eagles and barn owls swoop and soar above your head. 

Head into the deep blue and discover unique creatures like the White-clawed crayfish, Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman, or the Californian Sea Lion. Intrigued muhc? Ask animal keepers 
Looking for some fun activities? Children aged 6 and above can enjoy Sky Trek and the whole family can get on-board the safari road train!

Food & Drink
Is your tummy rumbling? Soothe your scratchy throats and roaring tummies with a trip to one of many onsite restaurants and snack shacks dotted around the zoo. 
Grab a steaming slice of pizza from the Parkside Pizza Restaurant or nip in for a creamy coffee at The Glade. don't fancy sitting in to eat? If a tasty snack is all you need you should head to Wise Owl Shack, Woodlands or the Keepers Hut! 

  • Banham Zoological Gardens is wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with pathed surfaces and lifts/ramps where appropriate.
  • The Safari Roadtrain is not adapted for wheelchair use. However, our staff will assist visitors where possible to board and disembark from the train.
  • There is plenty of seating around the site.
  • We have disabled car parking spaces available to visitors with a valid permit.
  • Free manual wheelchairs are available to guests.
  • These are in limited supply so are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Travelling & Parking for Visitors
Banham Zoological Gardens is signposted off the A11 and A140. Follow the brown tourist signs to find us.
Travelling by car?
Newmarket: 45 Mins | Bury St Edmunds: 41 Mins | Cambridge: 1 Hr 6 Mins | Norwich: 1 Hr 22 Mins
travelling by train?
The nearest train station to Banham Zoological Reserve is Norwich. Taxi/Bus transport will be required on arrival to these stations to reach the reserve.
Travelling by bus?
Currently, the only bus route to Banham Zoo is the37A service run by Coach Services. From the bus station there is a 5 minute walk to the zoo entrance.
