From our base in Middlewich, Floating Holidays - Day Boat Hire offers the unique opportunity to explore the Cheshire countryside, whilst cruising along the Trent & Mersey Canal.
Accommodating up to 8 guests, Floating Holidays - Day Boat hire is ideal for family and friendship groups wanting to spend quality time togther, in the outdoors, away from it all. It is well-equipped, with kitchenette, WC and flexible indoor and outdoor seating.
Children will love pretending to be captains for the day and spotting the wildlife and farm animals that you're bound to see enroute.
Whether you pack a picnic or plan a pit stop at one of the canal side pubs en route, grown ups will love the chance to unwind for the day in the Cheshire countryside.
Safety First! Tuition is provided by a member of our experienced team and life jackets are provided in various sizes for both children and adults.
"What if I get the canal boating bug?", I hear you ask! Floating Holidays - Day Boat Hire also operates a number of holiday hire boats that you can check out upon your return.

Newly restored, Wild Thyme is ideal for family day trips, cruising along the Trent & Mersey Canal. Wild Thyme is fully equipped with a Kitchenette, WC and flexible seating for use both indoors and out.
Accommodating up to 8 guests, Wild Thyme is perfect for large family and friendship groups. Not forgetting the four legged members of the familly, dogs are welcome too!
Tuition is provided at the beginning of your day and life jackets are available in various sizes for both children and adults.

Our standard opening times are 9am until 5pm, however we operate morning, full day and evening hires or our day boat, narrowboat, Wild Thyme.

This boat can take up to 8 guests, upon collection we will take you through your training induction and begin your trip along the canals.
During your tuition we will assist you through the first couple of locks, after which it will be plain sailing for the rest of the day.
We will meet you to assist you back through the locks upon your return.
The boat comes with complimentary tea and coffee, as well as a stocked fridge mini bar (items consumed payable upon return of vessel).
Full payment is required at the time of booking for the hire and a credit or debit card will be held on file and authorised for any charges upon the start of your hire. Our insurers also require photo id from the skipper and / or hirer.
