Attraction Information
Brookside Miniature Railway, located in Brookside Garden Centre in Poynton, offers a superb train ride for families and enthusiasts along a half mile circuit through the beautiful gardens of this large garden centre.
The railway has an authentic GWR station, full size Midland Railway signal box, and a museum of railway relics and memorabilia, so there is plenty to keep you and the kids entertained. There is also a picnic area, restaurant garden, and gift shops to enjoy, plus a large Aquatic Centre, and 2 Drive your own Tram tracks on site.
The railway began as a 5 inch gauge railway in 1972, but changed to its present gauge in 1989, with the railway extending in 1999, and again in 2007! The trains are pulled by a variety of internal combustion and steam engines. They run from the 4 platform country station, called Brookside Central, and then take you on a broad circuit of the lovely gardens, crossing over 3 bridges, and through 2 tunnels! Fantastic fun for the whole family!
