About Substation Macclesfield - Climbing Centre

Substation Macclesfield is a family-friendly bouldering and fitness centre in the Peak District. With climbing routes set for all ages and abilities, you'll find climbs suitable for all the family.

Indoor bouldering is the perfect all-weather activity for kids and families looking for an active day out. Build confidence, improve fitness and have heaps of fun!

As well as a spacious main gym area, our upstairs mezzanine is set specifically for children. With shorter walls and routes designed for little arms and legs, it's the perfect space for young climbers to get the hang of things!

Substation Macclesfield is a short walk from Macclesfield train station. With on-site family parking, baby changing facilities and ramps for pushchair access, climbing has never been so accessible!

Family friendly climbing gym

Substation Macclesfield is a family friedly bouldering gym equipped with dedicated family parking spaces, baby changing facilities and pushchair access. With routes set for all ages and abilities, Parents and kids can experience a wide variety of fun and challenging climbs together.

On-site cafe serving food and drinks

Our onsite Cafe serves hot and cold drinks and food Monday - Sunday. With cakes and pastries from local bakeries and handmade toasties and pizza by the slice, you'll find all you need to fuel you before and after your climb.

Mezzanine area specifically for kids

Our upstairs mezzanine area is perfect for young children, with short walls and climbing routes for short arms and legs!
