Awesome Walls Climbing Stockport
Stockport, Greater ManchesterAbout Awesome Walls Climbing Stockport
Awesome Walls Climbing Centre Stockport facility is without doubt the largest climbing centre in England and usable for ages 6 and upwards. There is a colossal amount of leading, top-roping and bouldering to keep you happy for many, many visits!
All the walls in Stockport are different angles to Liverpool (and most other centres).
There are 3 main areas within AWCC Stockport: The Main Engine House, the 'Tall Wall' area and the bouldering area.
The actual Engine House is a massive space that not only hosts the vast majority of climbing surface but the reception area and 'chill ledge' with cafe. The climbing area here consists of a multitude of angles from slabs to mega overhangs around the perimeter walls. Based in the centre of the Engine House in 'The Awesome Fin', this starts at a nice slabby 6m and stretches out into a full 10m overhang at the far end with a belay and abseil platform on top.
The 'Tall Wall' area is what it says - a very high (23.5 metre) shaft with 21 lines to climb on. Each line has 2 or 3 routes on.
In the bouldering area you will find the toilets, lockers, storage, party room, meeting room, campus board, 2 traverse walls and an awesome 400sqm of bouldering.
