Attraction Information
Etherow Country Park is a wonderful place to go for a day out surrounded by beautiful scenery, multiple lakes and walkways.
Birdwatchers will find plenty to see throughout the year, including Nuthatches and Tree creepers. You can also see Mandarin ducks, swans and geese. Bring some bread to feed them or you can buy duck and bird food while you are there.
There is an impressive waterfall around the lake and several woods to explore. There is a stepped weir at the bottom of the rivers, a hide overlooking Keg Pool and a steep path that goes all the way up to the Glossop Road and through even more woodland.
You can go fishing and pond dipping here, join the sailing or model boating club or just enjoy the walks and trails. There is also an annual Events programme, plus Theme walks and Community Task days so check online before your visit to see what is happening.
You might want to bring your wellies as it can get pretty muddy, especially after rain, but most of the paths are well maintained.
