Etherow Country Park
Stockport, Greater ManchesterAbout Etherow Country Park
Etherow Country Park is a wonderful place to go for a day out surrounded by beautiful scenery, multiple lakes and walkways.
Things to do at Etherow Country Park
Birdwatching
Birdwatchers will find plenty to see throughout the year, including Nuthatches and Tree creepers. You can also see Mandarin ducks, swans and geese. Bring some bread to feed them or you can buy duck and bird food while you are there.
Family Picnic
Pack a picnic basket and enjoy a meal with your family amidst the picturesque surroundings of the park. There are designated picnic areas where you can relax and unwind.
Waterfalls and Woodland
There is an impressive waterfall around the lake and several woods to explore. There is a stepped weir at the bottom of the river, a hide overlooking Keg Pool and a steep path that goes all the way up to the Glossop Road and through even more woodland. Plenty of scenic views to enjoy
Seasonal events and nature walks
You can go fishing and pond dipping here, join the sailing or model boating club or just enjoy the walks and trails. There is also an annual Events programme, plus themed walks and Community Task days so check online before your visit to see what is happening.
You might want to bring your wellies as it can get pretty muddy, especially after rain, but most of the paths are well maintained.
