Attraction Information
Bamburgh Beach
The sandy beach, sheltered by dunes, stretches for miles and dominating the skyline is the majestic outline of Bamburgh Castle. This is where you'll want to go for local amenities, toilets, cafe etc. as well as the collections and exhibits.
Swimming is safe provided you avid the rocks and bad weather, and surfing is rated highly here with the waves naturally breaking to the left and right because of sandbars. There is no lifeguard cover whoever so do be careful.
Windsurfing and fishing also permitted.
If you fancy a bit more exploring then turn right on the beach and walk south to Seahouses, where it's rockier and there are unusual shells, and if you're lucky a glimpse of the grey seals. It's great bird watching territory too.
Opening hours
No lifeguard cover at any time. Dogs welcome all year.
