Attraction Information
Ballahimmin Riding and Pony Trekking Centre offer a variety of well mannered mounts for lessons, which are available from 4 years upwards. Families and older kids can take a trek, the standard one is 2 hours long of which 1 hour 15 mins is riding and the rest prep time so it's not overwhelmingly long for beginners. The preparation time is the period set aside for doing the rider registration forms, having a hat fitted, mounting up and all your safety checks prior to setting out.
They are always prepared to walk on foot and have ponies on lead reins where required, so they welcome trekkers from 4 years old and cater for mixed ability groups, plus can offer riding over one hundred acres of scenic hill land, all completely off road: so nice and safe and peaceful!
Hore riding is a great experience for kids, even better doing it along side you! It teaches patience, grace, control and balance and encourages kids to take instruction as the guide's way will almost always work: they know their stuff, you see!
