Attraction Information
The esteemed Walker Art Gallery is known for it's Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite art and Tudor Portraits, but it's also surprisingly child friendly, with free activities and special sections laid on just for them!
Big Art for Little Artists is a gallery for children up to and including the age of eight. It has been thoughtfully designed with fun in mind to help introduce children to art, and for older children act as a start point for the rest of the gallery.
Kids can make their own artworks, peruse a selection of kids' art books, dress up as characters from the Walker's paintings using their costume kit, play with kooky puppets and create their own stories, or if it's all too much they can just chill out in the mood room, exploring sounds associated with colour!
And if they're old enough to want to explore the other galleries you will find numerous small details throughout that have been added to keep children feeling welcome!
