There’s lots more to see and do in Wirral including the seaside fun of New Brighton to the beautiful garden village at Port Sunlight and the historic Birkenhead Park. All of these attractions are only a couple of stops away by bus, which you can catch from outside Seacombe Ferry Terminal.
Hop off the ferry at Liverpool Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal and explore Liverpool’s fascinating architecture and history. Experience a River Explorer Cruise on the historic Mersey Ferry
There has been a Mersey Ferry on the River Mersey for over 800 years. The first known ferry service was provided by the monks of Birkenhead Priory in 1150 AD. The world-famous ferries even have a song dedicated to them; 'Ferry Cross The Mersey' by Gerry Marsden!
We currently have two Mersey Ferries; the Royal Iris of the Mersey in traditional black, white, and red livery and the Dazzle Ferry. Our stunning Dazzle Ferry which adorns a striking dazzle design was created by Sir Peter Blake as part of the First World War commemorations. Sir Peter Blake is most famous for designing The Beatles' Sgt Pepper’s album cover.
The enjoyable onboard commentary is perfect for little historians and visitors to the city region. Did you know that The Beatles played on The Royal Iris at the Cavern Club’s famous Riverboat Shuffle Cruises in 1961 and 1962 before they became famous?
